The Art of Flying Firewheel is a Ninpo Art used by Ryu Hayabusa throughout the Ninja Gaiden NES Trilogy.

Description[]

Ninja Gaiden (NES)[]

Ryu discovered a secret art form at the end of a special training session. He takes 3 balls of fire and twirls them around, burning any enemy in his way.[1]

Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos[]

After long training, Ryu developed this secret skill. With this skill he can throw fire wheel at his foes and burn them up.[2]

Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom[]

This is the secret art Ryu invented at the end of his special training. You can throw a flame at an upward angle and burn the enemy.[3]

Plot[]

By focusing his mind on spiritual wave forms around him, Ryu is able to create many fireballs around him. But instead letting them circle around him, Ryu uses his pyrokinetic abilities to launch these fireballs into the air, burning anything caught in the firewheel's path.

Advantages[]

  • Kills enemies above Ryu.
  • Effective on bosses.

Disadvantages[]

  • Does not harm enemies below Ryu.

Utilization[]

It is one of the more versatile ninpo in NES series useful in most areas of the game and against most bosses. This ninpo is best used on enemies who are flying or jumping above Ryu. It is also useful on enemies who are on higher platforms.
