The Tragedy of the Hayabusa Village
The Dark Dragon Blade Incident (黒龍丸の事故Kokuryuumaru no Shiko; the Trouble of the Dark Dragon Blade) is the catastrophe that befell the Hayabusa Ninja Clan in Ninja Gaiden and its remakes.
History[]
Long ago, the Dark Dragon threw the world into an abyss of chaos. Upon its eventual defeat at the hands of the Dragon Lineage, an enchanted sword, the Dark Dragon Blade was created from its bones. Filled with tremendous malevolent powers, the Blade was sealed by the Hayabusa Ninja Clan, guarded at all times.
Events[]
However, evil entities known as the Fiends, murdered many Ninja from the clan and stole the evil blade. The world was threatened once again with an abyss of darkness. Ryu Hayabusa, the Dragon Ninja took up the Dragon Sword and faced this hellish legion alone. After the battle with the minions of Vigoor, Ryu shattered the evil blade with one stroke of the True Dragon Sword. This takes place a whole year before the events of Ninja Gaiden Sigma II.

Results[]
After the destruction of the Vigoor Emperor and the Vigoorian Military, the Holy Vigoor Empire as it was, was destroyed. Due to the death of Murai at the hands of his nephew, Ryu Hayabusa, the Shadow Ninja Clan was disbanded and its base abandoned. Alma found peace, reconciling with her sister, Rachel in death. Ryu returned to his village to rebuild.
