The Life of the Gods(神の命, Kami no Inochi; Life of the Gods) is an item found in Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Ninja Gaiden II, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus.

DescriptionEdit

"Gathering nine of these blue jewels is said to increase the limit of one’s physical endurance. These jewels are counted in the order of the nine symbols of Kuji-In, or Nine Syllable Seals, which is a mantra that has been used for ages to protect against and ward off evil. The order is as follows: Rin, Byo, To, Sha, Kai, Chin, Retsu, Zai, Zen. The jewels are shaped like billiard balls, highly polished and perfectly spherical, and can be found hidden throughout the world. Numerous theories struggle to explain their origin. Some suggest they are Dragon drops formed from crystallized Dragon secretions that fell to earth. Others claim that they are polished remains of a Dragon’s bezoar. Neither theory is backed up by concrete evidence. The crystalline structure of the jewels suggest the Dragon drop theory, but many researchers doubt this hypothesis due to the estimated age of the jewels derived from the half-life of the Neptunium 236 found in large amounts within them."

FunctionEdit

By collecting 9 of these jewels, your health bar will increase permanently. They can be found in chests and on corpses. In Ninja Gaiden II, they will be added to Muramasa's shop if you forget to pick them up. In that case, you can buy them from the shop for 1000 essence.
